About The Society

The Clay County Genealogical and Historical Society is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1984. The organization is totally supported by memberships, donations and book sales. Membership is available any place in the United States at $20.00 per calendar year (January through December).

The Society offices are open from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m EST Thursday & Friday or, for members, by special appointment. We can sometimes open on other days if volunteers are available. Phone number is 606-598-5507. Please remember that it is a volunteer only operation.
