Promoting & Preserving
The History Of Clay County Kentucky

Our History Museum

With additional space from the library, the Society has opened a History Museum. We have always collected and accepted small artifacts at the Society, but because of our limited space we turned down several gifts that were offered to us. We can now accept many of the things we turned down before. We have filled the museum with artifacts that represent Appalachian living, early farming, coal mining, logging and lumber production, salt production, military memorabilia, etc.

If you have items you would like to donate or place on loan to the museum please call us on a Thursday or Friday (606.598.5507) or email us ([email protected]) to discuss the possibilities.

Please stop by Thursday or Friday to visit The Clay We Were Museum from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
